This privacy policy (the “Policy”) describes how the Saul Zaentz Innovation Fund in Film & Media Studies at Johns Hopkins University’s (the “Fund”) Internet website (the “Site”) treats personal information that the Site receives and/or gathers, including information related to the use of the Site regarding viewing, client information, document submission, industry statistics, and/or any other use and/or service of the Site (collectively, the “Services”).

Personal information is information about you that is personally identifiable like your name, personal identification information, physical, and/or mailing address, email address and/or phone number, that is not otherwise publicly available, and any other information voluntarily provided by you.

This Policy covers the Site, its directly associated domains and people that the Fund employs or manages regarding the administration of the Site. This Policy may be expanded or updated as the Fund changes or develops the Site. For this reason, the Fund recommends that you review this Policy from time-to-time to see if anything has changed. Your continued use of the Site signifies your acceptance of the Policy and its terms and conditions.

Information Collection and Use

The Fund collects personal information when you visit the Site, when you use the Services and when you register with the Site. When you register the Fund asks for information such as your name, address, telephone numbers, fax number, electronic mail address, and any other identifying information which may be required from time to time. Once you have registered with the Site, the Fund will provide you with a non-encrypted user name and password. Once you register with the Site and sign in to the Services, you are not anonymous to the Fund.

The Fund collects information about your transactions, including information about your use of the Services, the dates and times you access the Site, the version of the terms of use and the privacy statement which you have accepted every time you log on to the Site, information collected through other means in connection with your dealings with the Fund and any other information, freely provided by you, which the Fund may choose to collect from time to time. the Fund may automatically receive and record information on its server logs from your browser, including your IP address, the Fund cookie information, and the page you request. the Fund uses information to fulfill your requested Services, improve its Services, generate statistics and/or contact you.

Any and all information of any type submitted by you to the Fund through the Site is non-confidential and non-proprietary. The Fund will be entitled to the unrestricted use of any such submission for any purpose related to the processes of the Fund and its initiatives, without acknowledgment or compensation to you and can assign such information to third parties. Take Down Policy

It is the Fund’s policy to respond to clear notices of alleged copyright infringement. Accordingly, the Fund hereby sets forth the information that should be included in such notice. However, failure to comply substantially with the requirements herein described means that the notification will not be considered in determining the requisite level of knowledge by the Fund, under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. If you believe that your work has been copied without authorization or that your intellectual property rights have been otherwise infringed in our website (the “Site”) please provide us the following information:

  1. Your contact details: address, email address, telephone/fax numbers;
  2. An electronic or physical signature of the person authorized to act on behalf of the owner of the copyright or other intellectual property interest, or a statement that, under penalty of perjury, you are the right holder or are authorized to act on the intellectual property owner’s behalf.
  3. Identify in sufficient detail the copyrighted work or other intellectual property you claimed has been infringed;
  4. A statement by you that you have a good faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright or intellectual property owner, its agent or the law;
  5. A description of where the material that you claim is infringing is located in the Site;
  6. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate;
  7. Provide information, if possible, sufficient to permit the Fund to notify the owner/administrator of the allegedly infringing web page or other content.

The process for handling requests to remove the material illegally held or published on the Site is as follows:

  1. The Fund will acknowledge receipt of your complaint by email or letter and will make an initial assessment of the validity and plausibility of the complaint;
  2. If plausible, the material will be immediately removed from the Site pending further investigation;
  3. The Fund will endeavor to contact the person responsible for the publication of the allegedly infringed material. The person will be notified that the material is subject to a complaint, under what allegations, and will be encouraged to assuagethe complaints concerned;
  4. The Fund will notify that it aims to resolve any issue swiftly and amicably with the complainant and to the satisfaction of both parties, with the following possible outcomes:
    1. The material is replaced in the Site unchanged.
    2. The material is replaced in the Site with changes.
    3. The material is permanently removed from Site.
  5. If the complainant and the person are unable to agree on a solution, the material will remain unavailable through the Site until a time when a resolution has been reached.

Many Fund’s Services do not have account holders or subscribers. For Services that do, the Fund will, in appropriate circumstances, terminate repeat infringers. If you believe that an account holder or subscriber is a repeat infringer, please follow the instructions above to contact the Fund and provide information sufficient for us to verify that the account holder or subscriber is a repeat infringer.

Please note that, due to security concerns, attachments cannot be accepted. Accordingly, any notification of infringement submitted electronically with an attachment will not be received or processed.
